Fiona studied Law with French at Birmingham University and as part of her degree spent a year in Limoges, France.
Fiona trained at Warners and qualified as a solicitor in 1996, becoming an Associate in 2013 and partner in 2021.
She is also a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).
Her experience includes advising on a wide range of estates, especially complex estates with Inheritance Tax planning.
She also prepares and advises on all types of Wills and Powers of Attorney.
Fiona also administers many trusts both where Warners are trustees and also for lay trustees.
Working at one firm for her entire career has allowed Fiona to build long standing links with families and to advise them and subsequent generations of their families on their legal issues.
Whilst her main focus is on providing clients with legal advice, she always provides practical and clear advice, recognising that many executor clients are recently bereaved and daunted at dealing with complex legal issues so shortly after the death of a loved one.
In this episode, Fiona Taylor explains what probate is and the different approaches taken depending on whether the deceased has left a Will or if they have died intestate. She describes the various stages that are involved, from applying for probate to the distribution of the assets.
In this episode, Fiona Taylor talks about some of the common problems that she sees time and time again when she is administering estates. And ones that can cause quite a lot of headaches, but they are actually relatively easy to fix.
